Central Bark

At PetSmart, we launched a new internal communication tool called Central Bark. Central Bark serves as a social media platform providing associates with functional tools like scheduling while also delivering impactful stories from around the business.

I was lucky enough to be the design lead on this project. My goal was to create an experience within the application that was branded but had an element of individuality. I think one of the best ways to do that is to incorporate a unique design element that ties the viewer to your initiative. In this instance, the pet silhouettes serve as the Central Bark mascot, something that could be used in a variety of ways across a wide range of materials. It could be a graphic, texture, pattern, or anything, you just want a component of the design that fits within the brand sandbox that can be effortlessly linked to the project.

Overall Central Bark has been a success, outperforming our adoption rate and engagement goals. I think tools like this are the future of Corporate Communications and from a design perspective, they help deliver a consistent branded message from the inside out.
